World champions England look set to further their education by training with a rugby league team.
Englands new coaching supremo Andy Robinson has revealed that such an exercise was in its planning stages, although he declined to identify the league side involved.
Given the Super League season is now over and clubs have dispersed for the winter break, Brian Nobles Great Britain squad could be leading contenders.
Great Britain are currently preparing for a Tri-Nations series involving themselves, Australia and New Zealand, with England facing November Tests against Canada, South Africa and Australia at Twickenham.
Robinson, who has officially replaced World Cup winner Sir Clive Woodward on a four-year contract, is keen for England to have as much variety in their training as possible.
And the 13-a-side code is an obvious route to take, especially with high-profile league recruits Phil Larder and Joe Lydon currently on Robinsons coaching staff.
We are in the planning stages at the moment, said Robinson.
Rugby league is a great game - there are a number of things we could potentially learn and therefore develop our players.
It is also something fresh for the players as well. I want it to happen, and I would like it to be a regular thing.
