Australia coach Eddie Jones named two newcomers in a 28-man squad for the four-Test tour of France and the UK starting on November 6.
NSW Waratahs backrower Stephen Hoiles and Queensland Reds outside back Drew Mitchell are the new faces on the tour, which includes Test matches in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paris and London.
But Jones admitted he still has a selection quandary over the role of third line-out jumper.
The number six jersey remains a problem with Jones undecided about going for workrate in George Smith or opting for height with a taller but less physical flanker.
That's still unclear, it will depend on form and fitness, Jones told the Sydney Morning Herald.
We recognise that we need to have a third line-out jumper in the side and that's something that we've never gone away from but George is, and has been, our best option at number six and we'll just have to re-appraise that as we go along in our preparations.
Jones has been tinkering with his flanker set-up since the 2003 domestic Test series where he instituted the use of two smaller openside players in Smith and Phil Waugh in the lead up to the World Cup.
He seemingly abandoned the idea in favour of a taller forward in Radike Samo at number six to start this year's Tests in Australia but reverted to Smith and Waugh by the second match of the Tri-Nations against South Africa.
And now he's rethinking the situation again, saying Samo, John Roe and David Lyons are still in contention.
Jones said the squad has a good mix of depth, talent and experience.
We've assembled a strong squad with some fresh new talent, some experienced players making their return from injury and those guys who have performed well already this season, he said.
Having players like Mat Rogers and Elton Flatley return to the squad is a real positive, while I'm sure both Drew and Stephen, who have shown more recently in club football that they are ready to step up, will now develop even further.
Jones said he expected to play a re-invigorated England side under acting head coach Andy Robinson, who took over from Sir Clive Woodward.
I think they'll have a new captain for starters - and I daresay a new approach to how they play the game, Jones said.
The Wallabies will be looking to make amends for what Jones described as the worst performance of season against South Africa last month, a Test match defeat which cost Australia the Tri-Nations.
They'll also be looking to address the less than perfect record they've had in Europe in the past few tours.
Australia last defeated England on their turf in 1998 while on the last European tour in 2002 the Wallabies lost to Ireland as well as the World Cup champions.
