O'Connor on comeback trail
28 August 2004, 2:59 pm
Highly-rated Irish flanker Jonny O'Connor continued his rehabilitation from injury in Friday's Anglo-Celtic Challenge at Stradey Park.
The forward, who has been suffering with a long-term Achilles problem, turned out for Wasps as they beat Llanelli 20-17.

With Keith Gleeson recently having a leg operation, Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan will be glad O'Connor is approaching full fitness.

Wasps coach Warren Gatland said after the win: "I was delighted with our first 25 minutes. We scored a couple of nice tries and put Llanelli under a lot of pressure.

"I thought that at times in the first 25 minutes Llanelli struggled with the pace of the game. We tried to keep the ball alive, but Llanelli are a quality side and they came back well."
