Galwey set for Shannon job

Former Ireland captain Mick Galwey is to take over as coach of Shannon following the retirement of Geoff Moylan.

Moylan announced earlier this week he is stepping down for personal reasons after leading the club to two AIB All Ireland Leagues, three Munster Senior Cups, three Munster Senior Leagues and a Limerick Charity Cup.

Former British Lion Galwey, who won 41 Ireland caps, was an obvious successor after being involved with the club for almost 20 years.
