Former France captain Fabien Galthie has spoken of his determination to be successful in his first coaching role at Stade Francais.
The 35-year-old has been unveiled as the successor to South African Nick Mallett, who recently left the club.
Galthie said: It is a very special moment for me. After the World Cup I decided to quit rugby but Stade Francais is in my heart and it was difficult to refuse (president) Max Guazzinis offer.
I would like to thank Nick Mallett, he is a good coach and a great professional. I have known him for a long time, almost 10 years, and I won the championship with him last season.
You do not have good results by chance, Nick and (former boss) Bernard Laporte built Stade Francais.
I signed for three years in order to maintain results and club policy. When I was in South Africa, I learned so much and I have to say I like this kind of rugby.
I will try with my staff, Fabrice Landreau, Steve Meehan and others, to make a strong team next season.
It is a real challenge, I have never coached a team, I have no diploma in rugby so it will be hard but I know my decision is good.
