Grimes appeal imminent
16 June 2004, 10:22 am
Scotland lock Stuart Grimes will have his appeal against a two-match suspension heard in Sydney on Thursday.
Grimes was cited and subsequently banned from all rugby until August 14 for "trampling" on Australia number eight David Lyons in the closing minutes of Scotland's 35-15 defeat.

Scotland's appeal is believed to be based on the severity of the sentence, which would rule Grimes out of Saturday's second Test and Newcastle's first pre-season friendly.

The International Rugby Board's Appeals Committee, to be chaired by John Gleeson QC, will convene at the Australian Rugby Union's offices in Sydney at 6pm (9am BST).
