Gwent Dragons full-back Percy Montgomery has been added to the South Africa squad for the second Test against Ireland.
Springbok management have confirmed that Montgomery would rejoin the party and, subject to a fitness assessment, would be considered for selection for the Test team.
The move could create a selection poser for coach Jake White, after Gaffie du Toit, who replaced Montgomery in the original squad, performed impressively in the 31-17 first Test victory over the Irish.
Du Toit, however, was off form for much of the match with his kicks at goal and this may swing the decision in Montgomery's favour.
Others to join the Bok squad this week are tight-head prop Faan Rautenbach, who was ruled out of contention last week for the first Test , back up hooker Danie Coetzee and scrum-half Neil de Kock.
The injured duo of midfielder Jean de Villiers and flanker Joe van Niekerk have just completed their rehabilitation programmes.
