Sale head coach Jim Mallinder revealed hooker Andy Titterrell is likely to regain his fitness for England's tour to New Zealand and Australia despite a facial injury.
England A coach Mallinder revealed his forward should be given the all-clear to take his place on the southern hemisphere series despite the injury during the Wildcard defeat to Leicester.
Titterrell, one of three hookers in the 30-strong squad, was forced to leave the field immediately after suffering a blow to the cheekbone in the first half.
But Mallinder believes the highly-rated front rower will make a swift recovery.
Andy took a large bang and hes had stitches but x-rays showed there was nothing seriously wrong. Well have to wait and see how quickly it clears up but I think hell be fine for the tour, he said.
He took the knock on his cheekbone, just below the eye. He was not out of it but a little bit dazed. It was sensible to take him off.
Hes up and about now and and talking about the tour.
