Former Scotland international Steve Brotherstone has retired from the game because of a serious knee injury.
The 33-year-old Gloucester hooker was in his first season with the cherry and whites when he sustained the problem.
But the former Edinburgh Rugby man will still cherish his eight international caps.
Brotherstone told the clubs website, www.gloucesterrugbyclub.com: "Winning the Calcutta Cup with Scotland in 2000 was definitely the highlight of my career.
And I'll never forget winning my first cap against Ireland with the Scotland squad that went on to win the 1999 Five Nations."
Brotherstone represented his country at schools, under-18, U21, and A team level before going on to earn eight full international caps.
