Jason Robinson has revealed he found it difficult returning to club rugby with Sale Sharks after the high of winning the World Cup with England.
Robinson won every honour available in rugby league with Wigan before his cross-code switch turned him into a British Lion, an RBS 6 Nations winner as well achieving the ultimate triumph over Australia in Sydney last November.
But he admits settling back into the club environment after five months with England proved to be far more troublesome than he anticipated.
It has been very hard to get back into it and in some ways it still is, he said.
I spent the best part of five months away from the club and was then surrounded by all the hype that accompanied our World Cup victory.
Then all of a sudden, you are dropped straight back into the club environment again. You have to learn all the moves and you also have to appreciate time has not stood still while you have been away.
You cant expect everything just to go like clockwork and there have been so many other things going on as well its made it a very tough year indeed.
