Dwyer to coach Barbarians
13 April 2004, 12:09 pm
Former World Cup winning coach Bob Dwyer has agreed to coach the Barbarians on their three-match tour next month.
Dwyer, who led Australia to World Cup glory in 1991, will take charge of the invitational side for the games against Scotland at Murrayfield on May 22, Wales at Bristol four days later and England at Twickenham on May 30.

I am delighted to be invited again this year and be able to accept now that I no longer have any responsibilities with the New South Wales Waratahs and Super 12 competition, said Dwyer.

It is an exciting and satisfying role working with elite players from different countries, with different playing styles and seeing them gel into a successful team in the Barbarian style, with a limited time for training.

A number of Australian players have also accepted invitations to play for the Baa-baas, including Joe Roff, Chris Latham and Matt Burke.
