Edinburgh Gunners assistant coach Henry Edwards is confident Chris Paterson will be able to return to the side before the end of the season.
The Scotland captain suffered a bruised pelvis in the Heineken Cup defeat at Toulouse on Saturday and it was feared he could be out for the rest of the campaign.
But the Gunners' number two insists the club are optimistic Paterson will return.
Edwards said: "The medical team are still looking at Chris but the early indications are that it will only be a couple of weeks out.
"We are not sure if he will be out for the rest of the season but, hopefully, it will prove to be only a couple of weeks."
