Gareth Thomas was delighted to earn his quest for his 33rd international try to equal Ieuan Evans' Welsh record in the 31-21 RBS 6 Nations defeat by England at Twickenham.
The fact that the milestone touchdown he has been chasing throughout the current RBS 6 Nations tournament came when he rounded off a gloriously fluent Welsh move in the right-hand corner was not lost on Thomas, who was quick to praise the involvement of the whole side.
That try - and Mark Taylors as well - were both real team tries, said Thomas, who appreciates the effort of the forwards in making Wales such an attacking force - able to pose danger to any defence when they run the ball.
The way the forwards are playing enables us to move the ball out wide and run it, said Thomas, who pointed out that both props were involved in the build-up to his try.
Duncan Jones provided the final pass, and I think Gethin Jenkins had been involved earlier, he said.
The 29-year-old, who has converted from the wing to full-back to such effect that he looks as though he has been playing there all his life, admitted the target had become a monkey on his back.
It had become a bit of a burden, he admitted.
The boys have been urging me on, and its great to have finally done it. Ieuan was a great player, and its an honour to be up there with him.
Wales RBS 6 Nations campaign will inevitably be judged on what they do against Italy next weekend, and Thomas would be delighted to score again and overtake Evans as his countrys outright leading try-scorer.
But he showed the spirit of the resurgent Welsh side as he added: It doesnt really matter who scores. The important thing is winning the match.
