France scrum-half Dimitri Yachvili is hoping to take his chance with both hands after being named in the starting line-up for Sunday's RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland.
It will be Yachvilis first start during this years tournament following a serious thigh injury to Jean-Baptiste Elissade.
Elissade was something of a surprise choice as successor to the retiring Fabien Galthie after the World Cup in Australia but Yachvili was overlooked by France coach Bernard Laporte due to a lack of form with his club, Biarritz.
Yachvili has watched from the bench as the French recorded victories over Ireland, Italy and Wales in their first three 6 Nations encounters but Elissades injury has given him an opportunity to impress.
I know that I will be closely observed because I've hardly played since the World Cup but I can't wait to be on the pitch, Yachvili said.
I don't want to add any pressure on my shoulders, I have to concentrate and help the team win that match.
Yachvili insists he has no thoughts of revenge when he replaces Elissade and merely wants to establish himself on his own merits.
I don't want to take any revenge, he said.
Jean-Baptiste is an excellent player. All I want is to stay with the French national team.
Being sidelined was not comparable to a betrayal. I was never told after the World Cup that I would definitely be Galthie's successor.
When Galthie said that I was the future for the team it really pleased me but between the World Cup and the 6 Nations, four months passed.
What I am aiming at is to be the most efficient and regular player for France.
