I knew England were in trouble during their RBS 6 Nations defeat to Ireland because they were struggling to win first-phase possession.
The problem was the line outs, which went completely wrong. Steve Thompson was put under pressure all game.
I know the likes of Neil Back were sat on the bench, but I dont think it would have made a difference who Sir Clive Woodward brought on because the line out was the source of their problems.
However, the Ireland game has gone and what is important now for England is how they respond against Wales.
The Welsh have shown glimpses of what they capable of during this tournament - especially in the back division - but they did concede six tries against Ireland and that will encourage England.
I think it was necessary to switch Jason Robinson back to full-back from centre because Iain Balshaw looks low on confidence.
However, I would like to see Robinson on the wing and Josh Lewsey at full-back.
Mike Tindalls return gives England more of a physical presence at centre, and his partnership with Will Greenwood has been a successful one.
However, it is absolutely essential that England get their line outs right.
Meanwhile, Neil Back announced this week that he is to retire from the international stage after the tournament finishes.
During a long career he proved his doubters wrong and performed at the highest level. He was also an important member of Englands World Cup-winning side - what more can you really say about a player who has achieved all that?
