Troncon makes club comeback
14 March 2004, 6:58 pm
Italy's World Cup captain Alessandro Troncon gave John Kirwan some food for thought after making a try-scoring return to action for his club Benetton Treviso.
Troncon has missed all three of Italys RBS 6 Nations games so far this season because of a knee injury.

But Kirwan was present as the scrum-half turned out for Benetton in their Coppa Italia second-leg clash at Lottomatica Roma.

Benetton lost the match but won the tie on aggregate and they will play holders Arix Viadana in next weekends semi-finals.

Without Troncon, Italy have suffered defeats to tournament favourites England and France, but they bounced back to beat Scotland in their last outing, only the Azzurris third win since joining the competition in 2000.
