Jean-Baptiste Elissalde admitted he was doubtful for the RBS 6 Nations Championship meeting with Scotland after playing an RBS man-of-the-match role in France's 29-22 win over Wales.
The Toulouse scrum-half kept his country on course for a Grand Slam with a try taking his personal points haul to 24 against a Welsh side who at least held their own in the first half.
But Elissalde revealed he may not be fit to make the trip to Murrayfield after tearing a muscle.
He told BBC1: Im very happy for the team but not for me because Im in pain.
He added: It (the result) is very good for the team, very good for the tournament. I hope to play in the final against England at the Stade de France but to go to Scotland in two weeks is a very difficult.
Elissalde refused to countenance talk of a Grand Slam, saying: Theres still two hard matches to come and, even if we beat the Scots, I think the English will still be very good.
Wales coach Steve Hansen conceded his side had struggled at set-pieces against the French.
He said: Its hard to compete when your scrummage doesnt function and youre under pressure in the line-out but thats credit to France.
He added: All games are settled up front and in the end they were just too big and too strong for us.
Thats something weve been aware of for a long time but when youve got a pack who havent been together for a long time they need time to mature.
