Mark Taylor will make his first Wales appearance since the World Cup against France - and he is determined to make it count.
The Llanelli and Lions centre, despite boasting 44 caps, was overlooked for Wales opening two RBS 6 Nations games against Scotland and Ireland.
But a season-ending injury sustained by Sonny Parker has opened the door for Taylors recall - and he does not intend wasting his chance.
Every time you put on the red jersey, you have to prove a point. And I just hope to go out and prove a point on Sunday, he said.
Taylors reappearance in the Welsh midfield against Millennium Stadium visitors France will put on hold any retirement plans.
The 31-year-old had been subjected to speculation that he might quit Test rugby following the RBS 6 Nations campaign.
The moment I stop being of use in the squad, then that is the time to go, he added.
Obviously, I am still of use here, so I will stay around as long as I can and I will serve a purpose here. Any time you get picked it is a big honour - its brilliant to be back in the side.
It is very disappointing when you dont get picked, and there is no better feeling than when you do. Centre is a very competitive position at the moment.
Wales have shown over the past few seasons that they are capable of scoring tries - and lots of them - against France, and Sunday's encounter could be a classic.
If you look at the World Cup, the New Zealand and England games showed that we like to play with the ball in hand, and hopefully France will want to do the same, Taylor added.
There is a bit of added excitement playing against the French with the style theyve got, and the fact that they sometimes bring out the best in us.
They did extremely well in the World Cup and they have set off superbly in the Six Nations. I expect they will come out firing and its going to be a big challenge for us.
