Scotland back-row forward Allister Hogg knows he needs to make a bigger impression against Italy in Rome than he did when he made his debut against Wales at the Millennium Stadium.
The Edinburgh player was in the starting line-up in the RBS 6 Nations Championship game against in Cardiff but was dropped to the bench for the next game at Murrayfield against England, where he came on as an early replacement for the injured Cameron Mather.
Hogg will get his chance to play from the start against the Italians after Mathers ankle injury ruled him out - and the 21-year-old is determined to show Scotland coach Matt Williams exactly what he can do.
I will have a slightly different approach to this game. Although Ill still be nervous, I wont be as nervous as I was against Wales, he predicted.
Im looking forward to it and I hope to get involved a lot more than I did in the Wales game.
I didnt think I played that poorly. I didnt play great but I dont think I did anything wrong - it was one of those games where I just wasnt that involved.
When Jason White came on he played very well, and he deserved to start against England.
Cameron had a very good game, and so did Simon Taylor - so I was quite pleased to be on the bench for the England game because I thought I might be out of the squad. It was what Matt felt was best and it was probably the right choice.
It all means Hogg has to make the most of his opportunity this weekend.
Ive just got to go out against Italy and if I get the chance to show what I can do then Ive got to take it, he said.
I certainly felt I played a lot better in the England game; I got a lot more involved, made a lot more tackles and got the ball in hand - whereas in the Wales game I didnt think I contributed."
