BBC extend 6 Nations deal

The BBC have signed a new deal to exclusively broadcast 6 Nations rugby until 2010.
It extends their current contract by four years and covers television, radio and online services.

We promised that we would use the BBCs unparalleled radio, TV, online and interactive services to boost interest in rugby  and we have delivered, said BBC director of sport Peter Salmon.

John Feehan, chief executive of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, said: We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with the BBC.

The tremendous resources and work the BBC has put into the RBS 6 Nations Championship this past year has helped to drive the interest in rugby, for what is truly the greatest annual rugby competition in the world.
