The Official Online RBS 6 Nations Store is open. The store has everything you need to get behind your team during the RBS 6 Nations, plus the store is now fully stocked with a much wider range of rugby merchandise.
Announcing the fixtures Bill Beaumont, Chairman of the Six Nations Council, commented on the tournament’s history and traditions inherent in the world’s oldest and largest annual premier rugby tournament.
He said: “Today the RBS 6 Nations Championship is the focus of rugby and sports supporters all over the world, particularly over those seven weekends in February and March.
“This year we saw over one million people attend the 15 matches, making it still the best attended international rugby tournament in the world on a per match basis.
“Record numbers also watched on TV in over 160 countries, in particular we saw all time high BBC audiences in the UK. (Live global TV broadcast hours have increased six-fold since 2010).
“We were the first rugby property to have our own Official YouTube channel which means we have on-going online exposure for the RBS 6 Nations and we reached one million views within weeks of its’ launch.
“Increasingly rugby fans now get their information from a number of sources and we are delighted that record numbers were also achieved across all our digital platforms.
“We had double digit growth in website visits, over 760,000 ‘Likes’ on Facebook, a huge volume of twitter interaction and App downloads.
“We also really appreciate that the ‘traditional’ media of newspapers, radio and TV are still a very vital part of adding excitement and value to the RBS 6 Nations and we look forward to working with all media in the years ahead.
“Over 180 media representatives attended our 2013 launch, all key to our on-going growth and success.”
