Brown has led Scotland with distinction this year and will welcome the Grand Slam champions to Murrayfield with the two sides both locked on four points, two behind table-toppers England.
Two years ago Wales triumphed 24-6 in Scotland but Brown’s side are riding the crest of a wave at present after defeating Italy and Ireland in the past two rounds.
And Brown, whose side are looking to win the tournament for the first time since 1999, claims Scotland are ready to face the challenge of Wales head on.
“There is absolutely no doubt that we have taken a lot of confidence from the previous two wins,” he said.
“Saying that we are very grounded and we are aware that we need to improve if we are to beat Wales.
“It has been a long time since Scotland have won three matches but it is all about the next game for us and we are playing against the reigning Grand Slam champions.
“The challenges don’t come much bigger in the northern hemisphere, in saying that you want to be challenged by the best and I am confident in the squad that if we get the level of performance we want we can put Wales under pressure.
“They are a squad that are littered with Lions and world class players so it is a huge challenge and we can’t wait to get out there.”
