Harinordoquy delight at Biarritz effort

France back row Imanol Harinordoquy insists Biarritz are back on track after they battled past Connacht in torrential conditions at the Parc des Sports Aguilera.
It was a week of change for the Basques with coaches Jack Isaac and Serge Milhas leaving the club after a loss in Galway last Friday.

Harinordoquy, who is fit again and will be looking to get back into Philippe Saint-André’s plans for the RBS 6 Nations, captained the side and tries from Iain Balshaw and Seremaia Burotu saw them home 17-0 despite the game being played in atrocious conditions because of the heavy rain in the south of France.

Harinordoquy said: “We went back to basics and we’re back on track. From a rugby point of view it was difficult, even though our three-quarters scored a very good try off first-phase possession.

“The team put their heart into it, and enthusiasm, even though we were drenched straight from the kick-off. I’m satisfied with the effort put in by every player in this match.

“We have no regrets, before scoring four tries and thinking about the bonus point, we wanted to make sure we won. And we did that.”
