For France Louis Picamoles, Wesley Fofana and a penalty try gave Les Bleus control in Paris, with their dominant scrum a contributing factor to the success.
And Saint-André, who only took over at the start of the year, insists France need to build on their first success over the Wallabies since 2005.
He said: “I’m proud of my players, I’m proud of Pascal Papé and his team. We had nine days of quality. French rugby is often like that. When you are afraid you can do great things.
“When we look at the results of the Southern Hemisphere teams, South Africa winning in Ireland, Argentina beating Wales, we had decided to put in a lot of aggression at the rucks and to rush up quickly in defence. That was the key to the game.
“There were also some very interesting things in attack. Even if at the start we were being knocked backwards in the collisions we found a solution. I told the players to enjoy this victory. Beating a team from the Southern Hemisphere doesn’t happen often. Putting 30 points on them is even rarer.
“We felt something in Argentina, even if very few people saw the match. This performance was along the lines of the second Test. We didn’t panic and didn’t get overcome in defence.
“You need talent but the hard work is paying off. We have made the squad younger. Against Argentina we will need the same intensity and to play with the same fear.”
