Nyanga has mixed feelings over France call-up

Toulouse flanker Yannick Nyanga admits it's with mixed feelings that he received his French call-up after replacing injured teammate and skipper Thierry Dusautoir for the autumn internationals.
The 28-year-old hasn’t featured for Les Bleus since the 2007 World Cup but was part of the French team which won the RBS 6 Nations a year earlier.

He comes into the squad in place of Dusautoir who suffered a knee injury on Saturday and will be out for about six weeks.

Nyanga said: “I’m very happy of course but I’m not getting carried away because it’s just a call-up for the three-day training camp.

“It will give me a chance to show what I can do. But I’m staying humble, I’ve been called up because of the injury to Thierry Dusautoir. It’s strange.

“I’m pleased though because being called up for France is rare and it’s something that I want to take full advantage of.

“There is pleasure in that I must be someone who is good enough to represent their country.

“Thierry sent me a message just before he went away on holiday but it’s a delicate situation. Even more so because I was right next to him when he got injured and was really worried for him.

“It shows that anything can happen before the start of the Tests. That’s why I don’t want to get carried away and just think that this call-up is a reward for my work over the last few years.”
