The Scotland head coach faces a testing six months at the helm with clashes against strong Southern Hemisphere opposition

Scotland to host All Blacks this autumn

Scotland will get to test themselves against the very best this autumn after announcing they will play host to World Cup winners New Zealand in the first of three November internationals.

The All Blacks will come to Murrayfield on Sunday November 11 with South Africa visiting the week after and Tonga their third and final opponents at an as yet undecided venue.

Andy Robinson’s men, who finished bottom of the pile in this year’s RBS 6 Nations, have never beaten the All Blacks and lost 49-3 the last time the two sides met at Murrayfield back in 2010.

The Scots record against the Springboks is far more encouraging however as they did manage to beat them in that same autumn series.

With a testing tour to Australia, Samoa and Tonga coming up this summer Robinson has opted to continue to pit his side against the best in world rugby in a bid to turn his side’s fortunes around.

Scottish Rugby's chief executive Mark Dodson said: "We are delighted to announce our fixtures and firmly believe that these games will excite the interest of our fans."
