Wales Grand Slam winner Alun Wyn Jones captained his club side Ospreys to an emphatic Pro 12 semi-final win over Munster last night.
And afterwards, the second row praised the impact of the passionate home support at the Liberty Stadium.

Jones’s men were 45-10 victors in front of more than 10,000 at their home ground.

Dan Biggar, Hanno Dirksen, Andrew Bishop, Rhys Webb and Kahn Fotuali’i all scored tries, with Biggar adding four penalties and four conversions.

In response, Munster’s Ian Keatley grabbed all of his side’s points with a try, conversion and a penalty.

Jones, who started all five of Wales’ RBS 6 Nations games, is hoping the fine performance of the Ospreys will entice the fans to turn out in force more often in the future.

“I think the way the board have put out season tickets for next season, I will be more than happy for that kind of turn-out next season,” he said.

“There are never enough people here but I thought they were exemplary.”

Former Wales international wing Shane Williams continued his dream swansong and is now preparing to meet either Glasgow or Leinster in the final.

He is tipping try-scorer Dirksen, who was born in South Africa but has pledged his allegiance to Wales, to play a major role in red in the future.

“Hanno has had a great season and has been one of our players of the season,” said Williams.

“He is going to be playing for the region and probably for Wales in the future and could perhaps go on the summer tour.

“It is great for Welsh rugby.”
