And after a seven-year spell with Stade Français he will be running out for Racing as of next season.

He said: “After seven years at Stade Français I've made the difficult decision to join Racing Metro to have a new experience and undertake new challenges.

"It's a difficult decision, but one I've reflected on for a long time.

Szarzewski has won three RBS 6 Nations in 2006, 2007 and 2010, when Les Bleus won the Grand Slam and will be looking to cement his spot as first choice hooker with William Servat retiring at the end of the season.
