Hogg scoops Warriors award after remarkable season

Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg continued his meteoric rise after he scooped the young player of the year award at the Glasgow Warriors end of season ceremony.
Hogg was one of the few bright spots to emerge from an otherwise disappointing RBS 6 Nations campaign for Scotland that saw them lose all five of their encounters.

The 19-year-old was hugely impressive when he came off the bench against Wales and scored his first try for his country against France in the next game.

Couple that with his explosive form for the Warriors, who currently sit fourth in the PRO12, and it is easy to see why his head coach Sean Lineen cannot wait to see what the future brings.

“Chris Fusaro (who won player of the year) and Stuart Hogg thoroughly deserve these awards for their fantastic contribution to our season so far,” he said.

“Both have really taken the opportunity to step up and show they have what it takes to be leading players for Glasgow Warriors and everyone at the club is excited about the potential they have to develop even further.

“It's also fantastic that they've both signed long-term contracts. I've no doubt they'll contribute even more strongly in the years ahead and be a real driving force in the club's efforts to achieve success.

“The campaign is far from over, and we'll be doing everything we can to give the supporters even more to get excited about, starting with what will be a hugely tough encounter against Connacht at Firhill next Saturday.”
