Rugby fans have been given a vote confidence by Rome prefect Achille Serra, who has authorised the sale of beer on the day Italy host England in the RBS 6 Nations Tournament.
For the first time in the recent history of Italian sport, beer will be sold in the proximity of the Stadio Flaminio on February 15, when John Kirwans men take on the RBS 6 Nations and world champions.
In previous Italian sporting events, the sale of beer in the vicinity of the stadiums the day of a game was prohibited in order to avoid any violence.
The Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) also confirmed that fans will be allowed to take their drinks into the stadium - provided the containers are not made of glass or metal.
