Stuart Hogg
Stuart Hogg's triple couldn't prevent Glasgow Warriors suffering defeat at the hands of Munster
Hogg hat-trick in vain for Warriors

Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg's hat-trick for Glasgow Warriors was only enough to earn Sean Lineen's side a bonus point following their 35-29 reverse to Munster in the RaboDirect PRO12.
Hogg was one of Scotland’s standout performers an otherwise disappointing RBS 6 Nations campaign and demonstrated his versatility from the No.13 shirt.

His first try showed his raw speed as he romped in from 50m out while his second followed an exchange of passes with fly-half Ruaridh Jackson.

But his last score was the most important as it earned the Warriors a crucial bonus point in their race to reach the semi-finals.

Munster’s victory allows them to leapfrog the Warriors with tries from Conor Murray, Luke O’Dea and man-of-the-match Peter O’Mahony who would have laid down a marker to Declan Kidney ahead of Ireland’s summer tour.

They still trail second-place Ospreys by two points after their derby defeat of Cardiff Blues.

Wales Grand Slam hero Leigh Halfpenny had nudged the Blues into a 12-6 lead but the power of prop Adam Jones in the scrum helped turn the tide.

In the last 20 minutes, Jones along with Welsh lock Alun Wyn Jones and Tom Smith crossed to secure a 33-12 victory.

Some crucial kicking from Welsh fly-half Rhys Priestland led Scarlets to a 26-23 victory over Aironi on Sunday, while a much-changed Ulster side lost 26-21 at Connacht.
