But, against the Dragons, Burton scored with a try, two penalties, two conversions and a drop goalas Treviso overcame the Welsh outfit 33-32 in a thrilling match.
Alessandro Zanni, Alberto Sgarbi and Luke McLean – all who featured with Burton in the RBS 6 Nations – each scored a try with Wales international Aled Brew’s double proving in vain.
“Obviously we are delighted with the win,” said Burton. “We had to work hard for it as we let them score a few tries near the end which made it a lot closer than we wanted to.
“I think we have always come close to winning in Wales before and we won in Glasgow this year and in Ulster as well so our time was coming.”
Meanwhile Fergus McFadden, who featured in every one of Ireland’s RBS 6 Nations matches this year, was one of eight try scorers in Leinster’s 54-13 defeat of Edinburgh.
Shane Jennings, Isa Nacewa, Devin Toner, Sean Cronin, Fionn Carr, Brendan Macken and Leo Auva’a all joined McFadden – who also kicked a penalty – in touching down.
The win booked Leinster, who like their Scottish opponents reached the last four of the Heineken Cup last weekend – a home PRO12 semi-final.
