Andy Robinson could turn to Tim Visser after he is cleared for Scotland
Visser out to prove his class

Tim Visser has vowed to prove his credentials on the big stage by helping Edinburgh become the first Scottish team to reach the Heineken Cup semi-finals.

Visser qualifies for Scotland on residency grounds later this year and after Andy Robinson’s side failed to cross the tryline against Italy as they picked up the RBS 6 Nations Wooden Spoon, the prolific winger could well prove the answer to their troubles.

The flying Dutchman has already scored 16 tries in all competitions this season to help Edinburgh through to the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup where they face Toulouse on Saturday.

Victory would see the Gunners break new ground and allow Visser to show once and for all he is capable of delivering against the best in the business.

“This is the biggest game I have ever played in for Edinburgh so far. To get to the later stages of the Heineken Cup is incredible,” he said.

“A home quarter-final was something we couldn't have wished for at the start. We were looking just to get out of a tough pool.

“Toulouse have shown that they are hugely competitive in this competition, and that they can win it.

“They're easily one of the biggest teams in the world so it's going to be challenging.

“They have some of the best players in the world, though I wouldn't necessarily say they were the best team in the world at this moment because although they have a lot of good individuals they don't necessarily play that well together.

“That's something that we're focusing on and keeping in the back of our mind, and if we're accurate and play better as a team I think we've got a very good chance.”
