France's talented scrum-half Frederic Michalak paid tribute to his Stade Toulousain team-mate and new Les Bleus captain Fabien Pelous.
Michalak, who is about to play the third RBS 6 Nations of his young career, is glad that Pelous will succeed former captain Fabien Galthie who has now retired.
And although Pelous may miss the game against Ireland because of a niggling left knee injury, Michalak cannot hide his huge satisfaction at seeing him taking the leadership.
"It is great he will be the captain," the 21-year-old said. "He was definitely the right person for the job, mainly because he has already been captain.
"Even though he might not be back on time for our first Six Nations match, I know we can all rely on him.
"He is a great competitor and has an exceptional personality."
