Former Wales skipper Ryan Jones insists he cannot let up now after securing his third RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam with a 16-9 win over France in Paris.
The versatile forward came on for captain Sam Warburton in the back row as the Welsh followed up last year’s World Cup semi-final with a perfect five from five.

And while Warren Gatland’s side has been filled with young talent, including Warburton and back row colleagues Dan Lydiate and Toby Faletau, Jones has no plans to let up his own recent storming form.

He said: “For a relatively young and inexperienced squad, they have brought a wealth and depth of experience and composure during this Six Nations.

“It is up to guys like me who aren't first choice at the moment to keep pushing the youngsters. When you have got experience, you have got a duty of care as well.

“They are good kids, and anything you can do to help them and help them develop and allow them to bring out the best for themselves - and likewise for the team - is rightly important.

“We are a team that plays for 80 minutes - the Ireland and England games epitomised that.

“This is about a group of guys growing. We have a lot of young guys in key positions who need experiences to grow, and you draw on those experiences.

“What has been superb is that everyone who has pulled on the red jersey has stepped up to the mark and performed. It has really been a squad Grand Slam, if you like. “Even though we have had a pretty settled team, there have been boys drafted in and out, and what guys have contributed in and around the squad as well has been superb. They deserve the credit as well.”
