After landing the RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam in 2005 and 2008 – Jones and his fellow international colleagues Ryan Jones and Gethin Jenkins will create history at the weekend should Wales defeat France.
Welsh legends Gareth Edwards, JPR Williams, and Gerald Davies all achieved the feat of securing three Grand Slam titles in the 1970s but Jones admits he’s concentrating on simply beating France this weekend and not writing his own piece of history.
Jones, who will win his 80th cap against France, has played a key role in this season’s Six Nations as Wales have secured successive wins against Ireland, Scotland, England and Italy.
And with the unenviable shadow of France looming this weekend – Jones is determined not to waste his chance of an historic third Grand Slam title.
"It would be brilliant to win three Grand Slams don't get me wrong, but I think is more exciting for my family," added Jones.
"My parents know the legends of the 1970s. My old man, when he sees Phil Bennett it's like David Beckham's walked in the room.
"We are not worrying too much about that. If we win three, we win three. If it happens it happens.
"I think it’s good we are in our own company staying in the hotel.
“We don't have to go home read the papers, watch the news that type of thing. Just chill out and then get stuck into training."
