Kvesic itching to set the record straight

England Under-20s flanker Matt Kvesic has warned Ireland to expect a Red Rose backlash when they meet in their RBS 6 Nations decider on Friday.
England’s Grand Slam hopes were ended last time out by France in a narrow 12-8 defeat while Ireland climbed to the top of the pile with a 26-0 win over Scotland.

That means that Mike Ruddock’s Ireland side are now the only team in with a chance of the Grand Slam but face a daunting trip to Adams Park to finish of their Championship.

And Kvesic, whose side know that a win will in all likelihood give them the Championship on points difference, is itching to put their France defeat to bed as soon as possible.

“We were absolutely gutted after the France game, more so because we know that we didn’t reach anywhere near our potential,” he said.

“Fair play to the French, they played in the right areas and stopped us from attacking, but our focus is now on the Ireland game.

“We’ll stay positive, we’ve reviewed the France game and we move on. If we perform on the night, like we know we can, then I’m confident we can get the right result – the boys will definitely have a little bit of fire in their bellies.”
