Palisson getting used to life in a new squad

Recalled France winger Alexis Palisson admits he will have to adapt when he joins up with his teammates for Les Bleus' RBS 6 Nations clash with Wales.
Palisson is one of six players recalled to the French squad for the final game, joining Fulgence Ouedraogo, Julien Pierre, Dimitri Yachvili, Florian Fritz and Jean-Marcellin Buttin in being called up.

They will replace the injured Vincent Clerc, Lionel Nallet, Julien Malzieu, Maxime Mermoz and Julien Dupuy as France look to deny Wales a third Grand Slam in eight years at the Millennium Stadium.

But despite having started the World Cup final on the left wing, Palisson knows he will be joining a new squad of players which he will have to get to know in just a six-day turnaround.

He said: “I will try to bring some fresh blood. But it’s always difficult to integrate into a squad which has been working together for a few weeks.

“I’m really happy, it’s a real joy to get back into the French team.

“When I saw Vincent [Clerc] go off injured, I knew a winger would be called up so I was hoping it would be me. But then again, I don’t play on the right wing like Vincent. So I wasn’t sure of anything. And I didn’t want to get my hopes up only to be disappointed.

“I’ll try to bring as much support as possible to the guys after the defeat. I don’t really know what sort of state the squad is in.”
