Last time Scotland crossed the Irish Sea they did so having also lost to Italy and needing to stun Ireland in their final Test at Croke Park to avoid the Wooden Spoon.
A last-gasp Dan Parks drop goal saw them do just that and while Parks will not feature this time round, having retired from international rugby following defeat to England, Morrison wants the same spirit to be on show.
"We'd not won going into that game, very much the underdogs, but we went and put on a brilliant performance against a very strong Irish team," he said.
"That's what it's going to take this week as well. I've got full belief in the whole squad of 22 guys.
"I firmly believe they all do as well. It's just putting together all the pieces into one performance.
"I believe that if we do that then we'll turn them over. There's a pretty confident feeling in the squad."
Scotland mustered two tries through Stuart Hogg and Lee Jones but it proved insufficient to prevent a fifth successive Test defeat, leaving Robinson stuck on two Six Nations victories during his time in charge.
Centre Nick De Luca is handed a start by Scotland after impressing off the bench against France with Sean Lamont moving to the wing to replace brother and broken leg victim Rory.
Ireland are missing captain Paul O'Connell and scrum-half Conor Murray, both injured in the 17-17 draw with France, with Rory Best taking on the captaincy.
Prop Best has captained his country previously against Canada and the USA in 2009 and will lead Ireland again in the absence of O'Connell and Brian O'Driscoll.
The draw in France ended Ireland's hopes of claiming the title and they will be wary of a struggling Scotland side who have nonetheless triumphed twice in the past three meetings between the sides.
"It's something growing up that you dream of," said Best, whose Ireland side will also be missing flanker Sean O'Brien.
"It's very unfortunate what has happened to Paulie [Paul O'Connell] but I was obviously very honoured when Declan [Kidney] asked me to captain the side.
"We know we'll have to be on the money against Scotland. It will be a massive challenge for our defence."
