Wins against Scotland and Ireland was followed by a last-gasp 19-12 win against England at Twickenham and with just Italy this weekend and France to come – Williams is confident it will be Wales celebrating come the final weekend of the championships.

"They are the best team in the championship," Williams told the South Wales Evening Post.

"I don't want to jinx them by predicting they will win the Slam, but I hope they do it because they deserve it. They have worked so hard to get to this stage and they are starting to get their rewards.

"The championship has been brilliant so far. I've been lucky enough that I've been working at the games and it's been a pleasure to watch.

“It's not the easiest place for me to be in. I am nearly jumping over the seats half the time trying to get on the field with the guys.

"They could win games a little bit earlier because my nerves are wrecked."
