Philip Doyle speaks to the Ireland side
Doyle brings in Fitzpatrick to face Scotland

Ireland women's head coach Philip Doyle has made just one change to his side for the visit of Scotland as he looks build on their RBS 6 Nations defeat of Wales last time out.

Leinster hooker Paula Fitzpatrick comes into the starting XV at the expense of Gillian Bourke, with props Fiona Coghlan and Ailis Egan making up the front row.

After an agonising 8-7 defeat to France in their opening game, Ireland responded in style with a 40-10 victory over Italy before beating Wales 36-0 last weekend.

The back-to-back triumphs have left Wales in third spot heading into the weekend and Doyle has challenged his side to cement their challenge against Scotland.

“The win over Wales was fantastic and we enjoyed it but next day the focus switched to Scotland,” he said.

“We have put ourselves in a good position and the girls are playing some great rugby.

“This week has been about fine tuning things and again the commitment in training has been excellent.”

Doyle has also recalled the experienced Shannon Houston, who is named on the replacements bench for the match at Ashbourne RFC.
