But having been with Les Bleus throughout their preparation for the match against the Scots, Dupuy is confident he will be ready for the Murrayfield clash – as and when he comes off the bench with Morgan Parra getting the nod from the start.

He said: “It’s easier to settle down a little. I was able to unpack and put my things in the wardrobe. It’s a lot easier than two weeks ago. I have more time to prepare and to integrate in the system of play.

“[Last time] I was at 90 per cent but the hardest thing is to remember the names of all the moves. There was a little apprehension on the backline attacks, now it feels a bit more natural.”

Dupuy’s return to the squad comes after a period of more than two years in the international wilderness, but he hadn’t originally been part of Philippe Saint-André’s 30-man squad.

And while the Stade Français No.9 was frustrated at his omission from the original squad, Dupuy revealed he doesn’t plan on giving up his international place without a fight.

“I was a little disappointed. Things were going well with Stade Français and I was hopeful. But Philippe Saint-André phoned me up to explain it,” he added.

“It’s difficult to say [what will happen when Yachvili returns]. I don’t know what will happen to me after this game. I’m not thinking about it too much. I just want to do well when I get the chance on Sunday and stay in the French team for as long as possible.”
