The 20-year-old hasn’t featured for England since impressing on the pitch during the World Cup as a shattered eye socket and a hamstring injury has ruled him out up until now.
But Tuilagi has just played back-to-back games for the Tigers and stood out in their 20-19 win over Saracens on Sunday leaving Lancaster to choose between him or Brad Barritt alongside Owen Farrell.

“So it was a good chance for him to get another 80 minutes under his belt. At that level, in that quality of a game, it was just a great opportunity for him to play another game.
“We were pleased for him and how he played. He did a lot of things well and I am pleased with the way that it went.”
