Scots must pull together to beat France - Findlay
20 February 2012, 2:00 pm
By Sportsbeat
Scotland Women's head coach Karen Findlay has warned her side that in their RBS 6 Nations clash with France they must play as or team or risk losing as individuals.
Scotland will tackle the French at Stirling on Saturday and although she is content with some of her troops’ individual play in the Championship, she is demanding more from their collective efforts.

With Scotland failing to score a point in the first two rounds – losing to England 47-0 and to Wales 20-0 – the French game represents a do-or-die scenario in Findlay eyes.

“Some players did really, really well (against Wales) as an individual but unless 22 decide to perform at the required level we are going to continue to struggle,” said the 85-times-capped Findlay.

“Ireland recorded a fantastic result in France, I think the score was 8-7 – it must have been a massive defensive effort and the same is going to be asked of us.

“We’re going to need another massive defensive game.

“At least it’s at home and you always hope the French don’t travel well.

“It’s going to take a lot a lot of soul searching by the team.”
