Despite an opening 20-0 victory against Scotland, head coach Rhys Edwards believes there is plenty more to come from his side

Edwards insists there is more to come from Wales Women

Wales Women might have opened their RBS 6 Nations campaign in impression fashion last weekend but head coach Rhys Edwards insists there is still plenty more to come from his side.
After their scheduled opener with Ireland was abandoned due to the weather, Edwards’ side kicked things off at home against Scotland.

And as introductions go, Wales Women couldn’t have got off to a better start, two Amy Day tries and one apiece for Jamie Kift and Rachel Taylor easing them to a comfortable 20-0 victory.

They now have to pass the time until February 25 to show what they can do again, but the game will be well worth the wait as they take on England at Twickenham.

And ahead of their test on the biggest stage against the six-time defending champions, Edwards is urging his side to up their game even more, especially since they endured a baron 35-minute spell in downing Scotland last time out.

"Last week was frustrating that we didn't get the chance to play a full game," said Edwards.

"We only had 40 minutes to see where we were which is why we made changes to face Scotland. So it was pleasing to get a good performance and result on Sunday.

"It was good to score four tries but the worst thing about that is we actually created nine or ten chances. To get just four tries isn't the best conversion rate and we have stuff to work on ahead of England.

"We have a lot to look at but our performance in the first-half showed what we are capable of doing it. The challenge is to repeat that kind of performance for the full 80 minutes."
