But the Scots do tend to come good later on. They won their last round matches against Italy in 2011 and Ireland in 2010 – a match in which Parks kicked a 78th minute penalty to seal a terrific 23-20 win in Dublin.
And Parks, who retired following the 13-6 reverse to England, has seen enough in their opening matches to be convinced they can come good.
“We’ve got three more games in the Championship and I can see us going out and winning those three games,” Parks told scottishrugby.org.
“We’ve done some really good things in the Championship but we haven’t managed to get over the line but once we get that win the momentum will follow.”
"If it was not for the start of the second-half (against Wales) we were certainly in with a really good shout of winning that match.
“Wales are a quality team mind you but we had our chances.
“Against England we should have realistically won that game and I think everyone who saw that game would probably agree but we just couldn’t covert our chances.”
