The result made it two wins from two games after Wales opened their tournament with a last-gasp triumph in Dublin, ensuring they remain on course not just for the Triple Crown but a third Grand Slam in eight years.

Now Gatland believes his players won’t need any extra motivation when they come face to face with England, who also boast a 100per cent record in the Championship, on February 25.

“We are all going to be pretty excited about going to Twickenham and if you can’t get up for games like these, then you never will,” said Gatland.

“It's always nice when you are going into your third game and you are playing for a Triple Crown.

“We have a couple of days off now and then we will get ourselves mentally right for the match and we have everything to play for.”

After losing Bradley Davies and Sam Warburton before the Scotland game, Gatland faces more injury concerns ahead of Twickenham with Sunday’s stand-in captain Ryan Jones (knee), wing George North (ankle) and hooker Huw Bennett (calf) all picking up knocks.
