Wales change two for Scotland Under-20s clash
8 February 2012, 5:47 pm
By Sportsbeat
Centre Luke Williams and No. 8 Ieuan Jones are the only newcomers to the Wales Under-20s starting XV to face Scotland on Friday night in Colwyn Bay, North Wales.
Head coach Danny Williams has promoted Williams and Jones at the expense of Nathan Edwards and Reuben Tucker respectively for the RBS 6 Nations clash.

Four new players have been picked among the replacements: Darran Harris, Thomas Young, Jordan Williams and Dominic Franchi.

Both teams are seeking their first win of the tournament as the Welsh lost 11-6 in Ireland last Friday while the Scots were heavily beaten 59-3 by the English at Firhill on the same night.

The match will be played at Parc Eirias and will be the inaugural international to be held at the ground. The remainder of Wales Under-20s’ games in this year’s RBS 6 Nations will also be hosted there and Danny Williams says their arrival marks a signpost in the future of the game in North Wales.

He added: “The boys are really excited about playing our first game at Eirias and hopefully we can make it a venue where teams fear coming to.

“Scotland will be chasing their first win as well after having a very tough game against England last weekend.

“We are fully aware they are a very passionate side and we will pay them the greatest respect.

“Every week we are together is only going to be beneficial to us as a squad. There was no lack of effort or commitment last weekend and the boys stuck to it right until the end.”
