Jackson has been dogged by a hamstring injury since the World Cup and was unable to win his fitness battle ahead of the RBS 6 Nations opener against England.
That saw Dan Parks thrust into the No.10 shirt but the Cardiff Blues stand-off has since retired from international rugby leaving the door open for Edinburgh pair Phil Godman and Greig Laidlaw along with Jackson’s rival Warriors ten Duncan Weir to start against Wales.
And having been selected for the Warriors’ RaboDirect PRO12 clash against the Scarlets on Thursday, Glasgow boss Sean Lineen believes the 23-year-old is eager to prove a point.
“It’s great to have Ruaridh back in the mix,” he said. “He’s had a frustrating time of it since the World Cup, not being able to get up a head of steam or a run of games because of injury.
“But he’s had a month away from the field since the last Scarlets game and he’s raring to go. I’m really looking forward to seeing him back out there for us.
“We’ve been speaking to the Scotland coaches all week in terms of players that might be available to us, and we’ve got a good idea of where we’re going selection-wise ahead of confirming our team.”
