Tindall wary of Maggs threat
28 March 2003, 9:38 am
England centre Mike Tindall has the exacting role of marking Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll in Sunday's RBS 6 Nations decider in Dublin but will also keep an eye open for club-mate Kevin Maggs.

The Bath centre-three-quarter pair have not been in contact recently but will come face to face at Lansdowne Road and Tindall is aware just what Maggs is capable of.

"Maggs is a solid player, he's good at taking the ball up and also good at getting on the end of people for offloads and support lines," warned Tindall.

"He's like an additional back row in the way he tackles and steals the ball and gets turnovers so he is a good guy to have in your team. Especially for Ireland at the moment, he is playing on top of his game.

The pair have not had the chance to discuss Sunday's encounter.

Tindall, who will be winning his 24th cap, explained: "He's been away with Ireland and also didn't play in Bath's last match against Northampton because he was injured so I haven't seen him for a little while.

"We probably won't see each other until we line-up but I'm sure we'll have a little chat on the pitch."
